    The Daily News

   Glee rocks.

   I'll leave it at that.

It brought in the entire concept of God last night. The episode was called Grilled Cheesus, and began somewhat funny, but brought up some very real issues that reached into many homes.

Really well done, if you ask me. Oh, a bit overly dramatic and emo, as the show could do, but really, some amazing moments.

Good stuff. Keep going, Glee. You're SO on it so much of the time.

The entire subject of God and religion always brings some of the most intelligent discussions one could have.

It also brings some of the most engaging, and yes, often emotional discussions.

Say what you will, that subject will always bring it.

I'll step back. I have my own beliefs, and if you've spent even a year with the DN, they you probably know where I stand religiously, spiritually, or whatever one wishes to make it.

Somehow, Glee brought a lot of that to the forefront last night.

  I liked it.

Good stuff, no matter where you stand. Good stuff.

An interesting sidebar: I walked into my garden last night, and saw a light cross on my fence, which is sort of grey and old.

Did I see it as a sign?

Ahhhhhhhhh nope. It's just a fence. It's just grilled cheese.

I just saw it as a cross that got there by some scientifally causal reason. I went out a second time, and it was still there. Street lamp reflection? I don't know. I must say I did a bit of a metaphorical double-take.

Still, I smiled, because of the coincidence with Glee, which as stated already, brought the subject of God, and what we believe, to the masses.

I won't go to that debate, however. I may never. I dunno.

Too busy trying to make sense of each day.

But I do give props to the producers of Glee for an artistic and thought-provoking episode. If you haven't seen it, find someone who recorded it and watch. It definitely will touch a nerve.

Moving on, Part the First:  If you didn't catch it on yesterday's Facebook, I'd love to share a cute story that happened to my daughter Nicoley yesterday.

It came down the Facebook pike, so here it is. This is a true cut 'n paste coming directly from Miss Harrington's classroom yesterday:

Student: Miss Harrington, my cousin was named after a book.

Me: Oh yeah? What's her name?

    Student: Page.

How do you NOT smile when this is who you get to talk to at work?

Ah, Wilderness! Ah, my beautiful daughter!  = )  <-----sideways proud papa smiley

I LOVE that Nicoley is experiencing all the thousand natural shocks that teachers are heir to!  I LOVED that anecdote. I LOVE the daily stories. And Nicoley, you have made me LOVE teaching more than ever!!!

It's no coincidence that Nicole spins some of the best anecdotes in the history of the profession. Lord knows, she heard me come home with stories upon stories upon stories.

And yet, I find HER stories more engaging than some of the most famous in my entire career. Here's another story from Miss Harrington:

Student <Pointing to Nicole's obvious flat stomach.>:  Miss Harrington, do you have a baby in there?

    Miss Harrington: No.

Student <Pointing to the girl standing next to her.> She does.

   Haha, hilarious!

Well, that's about enough nonsense for one day.

There is sure to be more, each and every day.

    Stay tuned.

    Luv youse.

    Peace.
