3 There's the dog I tried to get across to you in yesterday's DN.
4 I've been so bizzy that I had conked out, awakened and tried writing that in my semi-sleep. The computer kept going wonky on me, so I just launched.
5 Last night I conked out really early, but by the time I awakened, it was still early enough to write all this boushit and still emerge with something resembling non-slumber.
6 The other night I was Lady Macbeth.
7 I think it was the wig and heels, but I'm not sure.
8 It's been quite a week, lemme tellya.
9 I won't even go there, it's just been a complete non-reality.
10 I walked around yesterday reporting to everybody I could see that I don't do two things: Thursdays and May.
11 Then I realized it was Wednesday.
12 I'm told this stuff comes on quick.
13 Yeesh.
14 Speaking of which, I've heard nothing but good about the Dead's concert the other night. I've spent the past two days enjoying some nice background music everywhere I go.
15 The Dead are almost an amazing backdrop to our lives, if you ever get into them.
16 Every time I turn around there's some reason I can't go do something these days.
17 I can't remember why I can't get to the Dead concert tonight. It seems that everybody on KNBR is going to go.
18 I came darned close to planning a lesson today for my American Lit kids and using the Dead as poetry.
19 I couldn't afford the Kool-Aid.
20 Tom Wolfe reference, I think.
21 Lost in all of it is the sheer poetry and power of those guys.
22 The older I get, the better they seem.
23 Any fans of Peggy-O out there?
24 Well, if you do go, expect to stay awhile and enjoy it for all it's worth.
25 What a long, strange trip it's been.
26 So have yourself a sunshine daydream today.
27 And eat ice cream. It just seems like a nice thing to do.
