The Seniors won Battle.
No question, in my opinion.
They lost Homecoming and wanted to bring it.
They brought it.
If I play my cards right, they'll never know what my opinions are.
Just as well. This class always was there for everybody, and clearly lifted human performance to an entire new level.
They did Hercules, which is a perfect offshoot of the larger theme, which was "Myths and Heroes". AWESOME overall theme.
Now that I'm not an official "judge" anymore, my opinion: Slam dunk.
Let that live forever in the archives. The right team won, which should also live in the archives.
Moving on: I was blessed last week with not only making it through another week in this life, but of the ultimate honor any teacher could receive: I was paid a visit and a birthday tribute from Sparky, Thuy Ann, and Trami, from my '05 days.
To that group: you were always the soul, and the fun! Sooooo many awesome memories!!! With that in mind, onFriday night, the Seniors won with a grand skit of Hercules, but they took it home with the last 60 seconds: They simply stated that they wanted a legacy, and to be remembered.
So Class of '05: You are remembered.
And to all the other classes who ran through the place under my watch: you ALL rocked.
'05, you were special, bc WE were a team.
And only those who were there will have any sort of concept.
On the record, '05 was my class, our class, our songs, your song.
And only they would get that.
I was a judge at Friday's proceedings, all of which were competitions in an identical version of our own FANTASTICS. At the Chill, they call it BATTLE.
Same show. Different faces.
I was a judge. Not an important judge, just a judge.
In my own eyes, I was THE most important.
Probably true, in a funny sorta way.
For example, only a judge who has been there could imagine...
Anyway, it fell to the usual: Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Freshmen.
None of which matters.
By 2009, I can only say this: every class that ever came through the hallowed halls was the best class. Some I feel closer to, but really, when all is said and done, I have loved every single year.
I've more to report, naturally, but I think I'll save stuff for later in the week.
It's been a ride, let me tellya.
And today's only Monday.
We still have to discuss Billy Joel/Elton John, or the new Stooges movie, or a plethora of other things.Sealing wax. Other things.
Stay tuned.
Gonna get interesting.
Peace.
