Right David Wins Idol!!!!
The Daily News
Shameful plug!
Hey, I just said that Am Idol was probably corrupt and filled with lots of dark stories and gambling, not to mention rigged results and scripts. I never said it wasn't entertaining!
The second I saw Mike Myers enter the mix as Guru Pitka I was hooked.
The two Davids are the real deal anyway.
Was it rigged?
Who the Hell cares? The right guy won by a clear knockout. But really, who the Hell cares? It was a rockin' night on Idol. I must confess I am a HUGE hypocrite. I got totally sucked into one of the most entertaining nights of the year on the old teevee.
Ah, the Davids! Their duet last night had soul. Eliminating the obnoxious but entertaining judges brought the raw talent to the stage, and no, they aren't out of central casting. The entire show rocked, and not too much on teevee gets through my sarcastic cranium. And those guys singing together rocked!
Last night was straight-up The All American Party, a celebration of talented youth and vitality, and a grand tribute to a younger generation. And their inspirations.
I already acknowledged myself as a world-class hypocrite, so I must say it was an amazing piece of television last night. For all its glitz, the talent of these young people rocked the house, jumped off the teevee, and drew even my cynical self right into the middle of those swirling lights and grand musical spectacle. And then there was Jimmy Kimmel.
Kimmel rocks.
Right out of the Celebrity Roast textbook.
For no reason, have a Coke.
Time for us all to move over and let the younger generation have a shot at the stars.
Lovin' it.
What a rockin' night of teevee!
David Cook and ZZ Top doing Sharp Dressed Man. How can you miss?
Livin' the Dream.
Brooke White and Graham Nash singing Teach Your Children. Doesn't get any better than this.
Free Hybrids and commercial contracts. Selling out. Eveything the world hates about America.
And everything I love about the joint!
Ah, SWEET hypocrisy!
H is thy middle name!
And that loser guy with the USC Marching Band with a parody of Fleetwood Mac's classic live encore with Tusk! and Don't Stop Believing from their The Dance CD (Remember CD's, ya online crooks? ; ) <----------ubiquitous sideways winky guy. What the heck was THAT all about? Ah, it filled time. It was a great ride, no matter how you swing it.
So for all my talk, I think I'm gonna get tickets to their tour in July.
I sold out man.
Oh yeah, and congratulations David.
Peace.
