     Something happened to me yesterday
Something I can't speak of right away...

     --MIck Jagger and Keith Richards

1  Great headline in Sunday's Merc News: Vacationing Stone falls out of palm tree, injures coconut.

2  Had I not been a bit distracted by other things, I would have had that one all wrapped up with a purple ribbon around it and mailed to you.

3  Turns out that Keith Richards, the craggy old guitarist for the Rolling Stones, fell from a palm tree the other day. It made lots of headlines, but I had to love the Merc News for that grand old headline. Good stuff.

4  Oh, my. Something happened to me yesterday...

5  I saw a purple umbrella walk past me yesterday. It looked funny because it had a pair of tiny legs walking under it, as though it were lost and confusedly searching for Truth.

6  It finally stopped raining, that was the funny part. It was sunny yesterday and suddenly out of nowhere this lost purple umbrella walked right into my vision and then continued on down the road to finish whatever it had set out to do.

7  And the rain had all stopped. The sun was shining brightly. There really appeared no reason for an umbrella to be walking about, lost and not knowing what had hit it.

Sighin' down the wind so sadly; listen and you hear him moan...

8  Sometimes I just go with that.

9 You know, a Rolling Stone and an umbrella that isn't sure really of what to make of itself.

10  And that's all true, man.

    11  It's all true.

    12  Stange days indeed.

    13  Most peculiar mama.

14  Wen Yu Fal Fynd Iff Heven Waitz.

15  Sorry. That's written at the top of the set on one of our plays.

16  Maybe that's when we find heaven.

17  I oughta ask Keith if Heven Waited...

18  Or maybe I should have stopped the purple umbrella for a stint and asked if it felt it was lost.

19  My guess is it would have said, "Nope!"

20  My real guess is that it totally was.

21   Something happened to me yesterday.

    22   Peace.

1  Is anybody at school today?

2  I'm certain we won't have a full crew today.

    3  Interesting.

4  I'm not really here any day, but I especially wonder about this very interesting day.

5  Well this is it I guess.

    6  Sometimes stuff just happens.

7  I'm sort of speechless. I KNOW that I won't have more than maybe eight or nine students in each class today. In many ways, I'm proud of people for standing up for what they believe in. That's what makes this country great.

8  It's just always good to see to it that it's something you believe in and not what someone else wants you to believe in.

9  In this instance, it immediately involves MANY people in our community and has immediate impact.

    10  I'm staying away today.

11  That is all I have to say.

12  Moving on: I've spent nearly the entire past two weeks helping get the Pigeon Players' upcoming show All in the Timing up and operating on the YB stage.

13  The showtimes are May 5, 6, 7* and 11, 13, 14* at 8 p.m. The dates with asterisks are Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. Donations welcome. Here is a snip of the flyer:

14  This show is just great and I want to be the first to say it. You should definitely come out and enjoy the work of this very talented and very dedicated young company that has established our theatre as their home. I feel extremely honored to be working with people of such a wonderfully professional company.

15  So be sure to go; this show is just great.

    16  I think that's about it today.

    17  See you later.

    18  Peace.

    so long.
