"Shakespeare is our greatest living writer" - British politician David Milliband during a radio interview
Well, talk about getting some good mileage! Ever since the DN of last Thursday, I've been getting e-mails flying in with various comments and astounding laughs. The above quote came in from Evelyn Huynh, who got it off a 365-day calendar. I gotta love it!
I also saw this VHS at the De Anza Flea Market this past Saturday:

Ya gotta love it! I went to the De Anza Flea Market year's ago, but really enjoyed it this Saturday. We had a ball, walking around ignoring absolutely everyone and everything. Pretty liberating!
Ah, freedom! Ah, liberation! Ah, the Stooges! Nyuk, Nyuk, Nyuk!
Well, I gotta tellya, the freedom and liberation were pretty brief, but man! The sun shone; the cherry trees were finally beginning to blossom, and the world came alive again!

Of course, it didn't last. I had to get back to the Theatre to work on the set for the musical, and then to get in there and do grades, but it was nice to feel the sun and the fresh air once more!
I even had time to clean the stage and all, but that sometimes gets a little depressing. I don't know why, but it sort of feels like I have to clean the castle so everyone else could have fun in it.
Well, THIS year it was like trying to clean out a stable, what with the entire hay debacle after the haunted house!
Anyway, we got a fun platform area done on Saturday, all set for the musical. It's been great fun!
Moving on: Let's take a moment out and talk about not the Academy Awards <yawn> but instead:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't last Wednesday Ash Wednesday? Well, I gave up going to Malaysia.
Now, there's a good Catholic boy.
I think it was radio station 104.5 that I was listening to on Ash Wednesday, and they had this ongoing argument about Lent, and the argument went on right before my virgin ears. It rolled something like this:
Like, when you give things up, is if for forty days and forty nights straight, or is it forty days and forty nights, but you get Sundays off?
They were all split on that, and when I've asked others, they are ALSO split on it. Some people say it's forty, straight on through, no breaks! And others insist that Sundays you get a day off.
Which, as a Catholic <well, I cheat a lot! but there's no such thing as an "ex-Catholic" any more than there is such a thing as being "ex-CIA", and I'm both!> I was raised to get Sundays off.
And what if I've been WRONG all these years? Like, suppose this Sunday I decide to up and take off to Malaysia? Will I go to Hell?
Or what if the year I gave up candy, and I ate a Hershey's Kiss on a Sunday? Can they technically send me to Hell for a Hershey's Kiss?

OMG!

Well, I've taken to praying every night. Hopefully, I'll work off that Kiss.
Meanwhile, you can bet I'm not going to be booking any Sunday jaunts to Malaysia anytime soon.
Okay, so I've asked before: is there a back door outta here?
Peace. Get back to me about the Lent laws, will ya?
<Suddenly> How you gonna pay? How you gonna pay? How you gonna pay last year's Lent?
Okay, I'll go now! Anybody wanna buy a Lent shirt? I'm asking $25, but I'll get them to you for $20! Okay, I'm NOT serious! But check it out!
Party on, y'all! Sunday is just around the corner~
Peace.
